About Helping Hands Ministry
The Helping Hands Story
In 1994 our youngest son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Because of the vast medical expenses associated, we found ourselves struggling to pay bills and put food on the table. A Good Samaritan with ties to a local food pantry began dropping off food, literally, at our doorstep. The food was much needed and the kindness that was shown to our entire family was invaluable.
That's when the idea of Helping Hands was planted in our hearts. A year and half later in 1995, Helping Hands was birthed and we began serving the Greater High Point area with the sincere desire to touch those in need with the same assistance and kindness we had previously received.
Helping Hands Emergency Ministry is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. As a non profit, we depend on the generosity and support of our community, foundations, and corporations who believe in our goal to help fund our programs and campaigns. We actively help feed our less fortunate, offer emergency assistance, and maintain the health and well-being of those in need. Learn More »
